Cape Cod Cottage Florals
The gift of flowers exemplifies kindness, love and beauty. CCCF understands that and brings a personal touch along with a bit of whimsy into each design.
Whether it be a perfect rose, a sprig of deutzia, grapevine curls, moss, or locally grown zinnias, the goal is to create a one of a kind floral statement reflecting your purpose using nature’s offerings.
Having been passionate about flowers my entire life, it seemed a natural progression to become a florist. From early on as a child, I remember my mother teaching me the names of the flowers that were in her garden… poppies, monkshood, golden glow, hollyhocks, jonquils. My first adult “flower garden” was very small and failed miserably, but I kept at it and at one point my entire yard was filled with gardens, except for the path in between them. My real passion was old-fashioned garden roses of which I had 65 different varieties. Unlike most store-bought roses today, they actually have a real rose scent which is lovely! With so much at hand, I loved making May Day baskets, birthday bouquets and various other arrangements to share with my neighbors.
Then I moved to a shady yard on the Cape and had to turn my love of flowers elsewhere. I became involved with the volunteer organization Flower Angels which delivers teacup arrangements to nursing homes throughout the Cape twice a week. I also worked for a while doing silk flower arrangements, and then switched to the real thing, working for several Cape florists.
My passion grows every day while constantly learning new techniques and trying out different styles. I love them all but my favorite style is flowy yet lush, using local flowers when available and whatever I might find in nature while foraging.
